FOR OWNER-OPERATORS · DESIGNED FROM 20 YEARS BEHIND THE WHEEL
Your truck. Your business. One app.
You're the owner, the dispatcher and the driver — usually all before breakfast. Relay keeps those three jobs in one place, and it's built for you as a driver first, because that's what you are when the wheels are turning.
Three tabs. Three hats. One person.
No juggling three logins. Business, Loads and My Truck sit as tabs across the top.
Business
The owner hat — what the truck is actually making you.
What each load really paidReady now
Revenue against fuel, your pay, truck expense and tolls — per load and per mile, not a guess.Settlements before paydayReady now
See what the week is going to pay while it's still the week. No surprises.Tax estimate done rightReady now
Self-employment tax figured on your net, not your gross — escrow and advance repayments aren't counted as expenses. A calculator only; your money stays yours.CDL and medical card alertsReady now
Warned 30 days before either one runs out, so a lapsed card never parks the truck.Accounting exportReady now
A file your tax person or QuickBooks can read.
Loads
The dispatch hat — booking freight that's worth hauling.
Rate analyzerReady now
Put in the offer, miles, deadhead, MPG and fuel price. Relay shows profit per mile and tells you if it's thin.Accept or reject — with the reason keptReady now
Over time you see which lanes and brokers you keep turning down, and why.The pickup-number ruleReady now
A load isn't 'ready' without its pickup number. If the shipper truly doesn't use one, mark it N/A on purpose.Everything for the load in one recordReady now
Broker, rate con number, shipper, receiver, appointments, seal, weight, overnight parking.
My Truck
The driver hat — the screen you look at in the cab.
Big-type load screenReady now
Pickup number, appointment and address up top. Readable at a glance, any time of day.One-tap milestonesReady now
At the shipper, loaded, rolling, at the receiver, empty — each one stamped with the time.Detention on the recordReady now
Tap when you're detained. The minutes are logged against the load so you can bill the broker.Breakdown, DOT stop, delayReady now
One tap writes it down with the time — your proof later.“Hey Relay” — hands-free co-pilotComing
Ask about the road ahead, a wreck, the next truck stop, or tell a broker you're running behind — without touching the phone.
Signing up is on your time
A company driver gets a 30-minute window because his boss already filled in most of it. You don't have a boss filling anything in — you're entering the truck, the authority, the insurance and your own credentials. So owner-operators sign themselves up, with no 30-minute clock. Take the time you need. In the pilot
The first question Relay asks: are you an owner-operator, or a fleet owner? Say owner-operator and it skips every screen about assigning drivers.
Getting the app — no app store
Android
A real Android app, downloaded straight from this site once you're signed up. Coming
Until it's ready, Relay runs in Chrome on your phone — same account, same data.
iPhone
Relay installs from Safari onto your home screen, like an app: Ready now
- Open app.operator-relay.com in Safari (not Chrome).
- Tap the Share button — the square with the arrow pointing up.
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.
The Relay icon now opens it full-screen, no browser bars.
Coming: a sticker that pays you back
Coming The referral program isn't running yet. When it launches, each owner-operator gets a free weatherproof QR sticker with their name or call sign on it, for the mirror or the door. When another driver scans it and signs up:
- They get a better deal getting started.
- You earn free time on your plan for every driver who signs up and stays.
- You're notified when a scan turns into a sign-up, not on every scan.
Operator Workbench will pay for the sticker and the postage. The exact terms will be posted here when the program starts.
Tell us what's wrong with it
Relay gets a built-in forum where drivers post criticism, advice and the features they want. It was designed by a driver; it gets better by listening to drivers. Coming
Get in on the owner-operator pilot
“Ready now” features are working in Relay today. “In the pilot” and “Coming” are decided and being built — we don't sell anything as finished until it is. © 2026 Operator Workbench.
